Telnet Temperature Output Format

Intro

This page will describe the format of the data printed out when the bbq -t command is used..

Telnet temperature output

If there is no blower attached to the sensor:

All of the values in BOLD above are actual real-world values and so they will change. A brief description:

id
- 16 character serial number
v0
v1
v2

- Debug values which can be ignored
temp_in_c
- Current temperature in degrees Celcius
temp_in_user_defined_units
- Current temperature in the units specified by the user (can be C or F)

If there is a blower attached:

If the user has just selected the "Temporary Disable" option on the front panel:

The bold items are the same as above. There is one additional item:

target
- Target temperature set for this sensor

Otherwise, these are the possible outputs, depending on the current PID controller state:

- Debug values which can be ignored
on
- This number times 10 equals the percentage the blower is on.
off
- This numbe times 10 equals the percentage the blower is off.
current_blower_state
- This can either be on or off. This value represents the current blower state. This is slightly different than the percentage because this value represents the state of the blower at this very moment.

Examples:

on:9 off:1 blwr:on
- This means the blower is on 90% of the time and off 10% of the time and right now, the blower is on.
on:9 off:1 blwr:off
- This means the blower is on 90% of the time and off 10% of the time and right now, the blower is off.
on:1 off:0 blwr:on
- This is a special case when the blower is on 100% of the time.
